Obituary of Bruce Wayne Rees

Please share a memory of Bruce to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with broken hearts that we tell you that our loving dad, doting grandfather, and devoted husband, Bruce Wayne Rees, has gone to his heavenly home to live amongst the Angels on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. Greeting him in his heavenly home are his parents, William and Elizabeth, and his brother, Leslie. To say he was an Angel on earth would be an understatement! To everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him, he was a very gracious, kind, friendly, caring, helpful, funny and loving man. He greeted everyone with a smile and always offered a helping hand. His parting words of every encounter was always “God Bless You”. To his family, he was our world. He worked so hard his entire life to give us the things and opportunities he never had. Not only did he build our house with his own two hands, he made it a happy home, filling it with laughter and love. He loved and adored our mom, his wife Vina for over 54 years and stood by her side through all of the challenges life presented them, without a complaint. There was nothing they, as a couple, couldn’t handle. They did it together. Love prevailed. He also loved and adored his three children: his namesake, Bruce Jr. (Dianne), oldest daughter, Sheri Lynn (Earl), and baby girl, Tracy Lee (Rev. Stephen), showing each of them this in his own special way. We all knew we were loved by him every day through his words, actions, hugs, and kisses. His life was complete with the birth of his three granddaughters: Angelica, Julien and Janelle. Angelica was his “Angel” and he often called her “Twinkle Toes”. His last words to her were the same as he always greeted her – “Hello Darling” Julien was his dancing, shining star. He loved to watch her dance and sing. He beamed with pride and would say, “You’re not easy!” Janelle is the youngest and has the personality of her Pop. She is very loving and doting and looked after him like she looks after everyone she loves – with her whole heart. Bruce Wayne Rees always focused on the good in everyone and everything. He just loved to love. Because of this, he also leaves to mourn: brothers Edwin 'Ned' (Daphne) and Bill (Linda), and his puppy, Zoey. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private visitation will take place at Noel’s Funeral Home, Harbour Grace, followed by funeral service at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Harbour Grace, by invitation only. Interment in St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Grace. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation, 31 Peet St., St. John’s, NL, A1B 3W8, or online at childrenswish.ca. He was always “Number 1” or “100%”, and he is now our Guardian Angel. All who knew him will miss him. ****
