PENNEY, Elizabeth V. 'Betty' - Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Saturday, February 9, 2013, Elizabeth V. 'Betty' Penney of Carbonear, age 97 years. Predeceased by 1st husband: Johnathon Carew and 2nd husband: Abram Penney; sister: Dolly and step-grandson: Terry. Leaving to mourn, son: Campbell (Sylvia) Carew, St. John's; two grandchildren: Christopher (Heidi) and Andrea (Paul); three great-grandchildren: Sarah, Johnathon and Olivia; step-daughter: Eileen (Woodrow) Snow, Kelligrews; two step-grandchildren: Lisa and Tammy; sister-in-law: Minnie (Don) Kirby, Boston. Ever loved and sadly missed by legions of dear friends and extended family too numerous to mention. With a sharp wit, mind and sense of humour that never left her, she leaves a gap in all our hearts. Till we meet again, rest now. A special thank you is extended to all the wonderful staff at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Monday, February 11 at 11:00 a.m. from St. James Anglican Church, Carbonear. Interment to follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road, St. John's. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Institute for the Blind or the SPCA.
