I feel compelled to write this because early in the time I spent with Wayne it became very apparent that he held a deep affection for his “dear Auntie Fran”.
He admired her gumption as a young woman leaving the small community of Catalina and venturing to the big city of Toronto where she found employment and made a life for herself. Throughout the years they visited and corresponded.
I had the privilege of hearing some of her newsy letters to him. They reflected caring and support to the son of her brother Chesley, a man whose loss they shared.
Her words revealed her spirited and positive nature and, like Wayne, her sense of humour.
I have no doubt that her nieces and nephews and all those who consider themselves a part of her family hold a special place in their heart for this lady. My sincere condolences.
