Obituary of David F. Parsons

February 16, 1960 - September 9, 2021 Passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 9, 2021 in the presence of his loving family at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s. Predeceased by his parents: Clarence and Myrtle Parsons, and father-in-law: Bruce Reid. Leaving to mourn with loving memories, his wife: Diane; two sons: Evan and Mark; sister: Dawn (Chris); brother-in-law: Brian (Kay); sister-in-law: Debbie (Dorothy); brother-in-law: Angus (Gaye); sister-in-law: Donna (Dave); sister-in-law: Barb (Dunc); brother-in-law: Blair (Andy); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Also leaving to mourn a large circle of relatives and friends. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. J. McCarthy, Dr. Hong, the staff of H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center and the staff of the Health Sciences Centre. Their support and encouragement gave us some extended time with Dave that was greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten. Dave was a hard working and caring person who always offered up help and support to anyone who needed it. He was a loving husband and father, who put his family first and foremost in his heart and mind. Dave was a proud member of Freemasonry, to which he held several positions over many years. He was also very involved in the scouting movement, in the past, and spent countless hours of volunteer work. Dave will be forever missed and remain always in our thoughts. His sense of humour, compassion and will to live will be etched in the hearts of all who were close to him. Cremation has taken place. Visitation on Monday, September 13 at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, St. John’s from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, September 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. A funeral service to celebrate Dave’s life will take place on Tuesday, September 14 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Craigmiller Avenue, St. John’s. Visitation at Noel’s Funeral Home, 106 Water Street, Carbonear on Wednesday, September 15 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow at the United Church Cemetery in Freshwater, Carbonear.
