To Emma & family and Andrew's Siblings & families (of which Hubert feels a part). We send our heartfelt condolences. The mention of Andrew Cole always stirred entrenched memories in me (Hubert). I remember vividly my grandfather's elated reaction to the announcement on the radio that Andrew Cole of Victoria was winner of the Provincial Government's electoral district Grade Eleven scholarship. His enthusiastic reaction was contagious to us all. Another inspiring tell-tale incident of our mutual regard and his selfless generosity was the summer of 1967 when I arrived at MUN summer school. He insisted on me taking his bed and he sleeping on a makesift bed so that we could all be together at Tom's and Shirley's place for the summer. During that time, I frequented Dairy Queen (a novel experience outside St. John's) for milk shakes. This led to his running joke, "How's the milk shake baby" whenever we met afterwards. Last but not least was the deep sorrow he displayed after the death of "his boy" at an early age. Whenever we spoke and the poetry he wrote afterwards revealed his deep faith and intellectual talents.Farewell my hero friend. Will meet you in "The Morning". Emma and family be assured of our love, thoughts and prayers for the days ahead.

To Emma and family; I'm so sorry to hear of Mr. Cole , Andrews passing. I knew him from way back when he taught school in Freshwater. He was a great teacher and loved by all his students. I don't know if you remember Emma, but you became good friends with my parents Mable and Jim Parsons. My sister Judy and I used to babysit for you. That's a long time ago and we lost touch over the years. Then last week I got a call for a prayer request for him that he weren't doing very well. I guess it was God's will to take him home. Hold on to your memories. I'm sure you have lots of great ones. Praying for you all.God bless.
