Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, Ellen ‘Nellie’ Butler of Carbonear, age 77 years. Predeceased by husband: Stephen; parents: Michael and Winnifred Ward; infant sister: Gertrude; sister: Mary (Patrick) O'Keefe; brother: Daniel Ward. Leaving to mourn, two daughters: Kathleen (Robert) Zurkuhl, Mississauga, ON and Leona (Douglas) Legge, North Port, Florida; three grandchildren: Katie (Jonathan), Cody, and Stephanie; as well as a large number of other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. A private committal service for Nellie and Stephen to be held at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carbonear at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to Daffodil Place, 70 Ropewalk Lane, St. John’s, NL, A1E 5T2 or online at cancer.ca
