Obituary of Ada Belle Pike

Please share a memory of Ada Belle to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with broken hearts and a lifetime of precious memories we announce the passing of a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Ada Pike (nee Green) on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Carbonear General Hospital, at the age of 80. Ada will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband and best friend of 57 years, Neville, devoted daughters: Wendy (Don) and Laurie (Dale); four cherished grandsons, Trevor (Elle), Aaron (Eris), Mitchell (Hailey), and Aidan. Also leaving to celebrate her life are sisters: Winnie George and Martha Penney; brother: Ross (Betty) Green; sisters-in-law: Judy Green, Minnie Penney, and Marilyn Pike; brothers-in-law: Wallace Pike (Peggy) and Warrick King. She was loved and admired by her many nieces and nephews. Easton, Kinley and Sawyer will miss their visits with "Grand-Nan Pike", as will her special friend Kay Kelly. Ada is predeceased by parents: Elizabeth and Joseph Green; parents-in-law: Beatrice and Graham Pike; aunt: Clara Belle Green; brother: Lloyd Green; in-laws: Bernice and Frank Pike, Ruby King, Alex Penney, Mike George, and Al Penney. Ada loved to dote on her family. Nothing was too much trouble for her, whether it was making Halloween costumes for her grandsons, knitting baby outfits, baking birthday cakes, or making shortbread cookies. Sponge cakes were her specialty. A kind soul with a beautiful smile, Ada never had a harsh word for anyone. Her faith never waivered as she faced many health challenges with courage and a positive attitude. She was very proud of her Labrador roots. In their retirement, Ada and Neville returned to the Labrador Coast many summers in their RV. She always loved to reminisce about her favorite place on Earth. Over the past 6 months, Ada has been cared for by many wonderful Home Care Workers. Thank you to all of them for making Mom's wishes to remain at home during her illness possible. Special love and thanks to Sharon Clarke, Laurie Sheppard, Charlotte Yetman, and April Thistle and Subrina Davis. You ladies are angels on this earth and we will never forget the love and compassion you showed to mom every single day. Visitation at Noel’s Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace on Friday, May 27 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., Saturday, May 28 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, May 29 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service on Sunday, May 29 at 2:00 p.m. from Coughlan United Church, Harbour Grace, masks are required.
