To The Family, So sorry to hear about Stan's passing. He was long time friend of my father's for many years(Clyde Moores). As a small boy I will always remember when he would come by to visit with Dad and as he was leaving he would intentionally drop money out of his pocket for us to find. He got a great kick out of our excitement of finding the money. To say he was a unique character would be an understatement. He will always be remembered for so many years as a large number of people knew Stan. Not only do I remember his slavge operation but I also remember the "Pig and Whistle out in the Bottom. May your many fond memories of Stan help you get through the days ahead. God Bless Tony Moores

Friday, March 22, 2013
To the Clarke Family: The Town of Victoria was saddened to hear of Stan's passing. Stan was a pleasant man with a wonderful smile. He was well known by many both near and far. For a number of years, he operated his Salvage business in Victoria, which everyone knew he thoroughly enjoyed. Stan was also well known for his involvement in his town. He will be fondly remembered for his work and commitment as a member of the Victoria Volunteer Fire Department and in later years, as a member of the Retired and Honorary Firefighters. Stan also had the distinction of being a Chartered Member of the Victoria Lions Club which he was involved with a very long time. At this time, on behalf of Mayor Arthur Burke, who is away on vacation, Council, Staff and the citizens of Victoria, I wish to express to you all our sincere condolences. May God Bless you and comfort you now and in the days ahead. Jeanette Penney, Deputy Mayor, Town of Victoria

I remember when Stan lived in the bottom or Till Path as we called it. Every week without fail, he would drop off his clothes to Mom (Aggie Antle) to be washed. She would wash, dry and iron his clothesd and place them neatly in a bag. Either myself or Elsa would bring them over to Stan. He would give us either a bar or a quarter. On Sundays Mom would cut out a dinner for Stan . We would bring it to him and again we'd get a bar or a quarter. No matter who you were or what you needed, Stan Clarke was that one-in-a-million to be first in helping you out. He'll be missed is an understatement. He is irreplaceable in Victoria.
