It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janet Penney of Western Bay, age 74 years at Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear on Sunday, October 2, 2022. Predeceased by parents: Edward and Ada Barrow; brothers: Bram, Ralph, and Fred; parents-in-law: William and Pearl Penney; brothers-in-law: Aubrey and Chesley. Leaving to mourn, devoted and loving husband of 54 years, Claude, who went above and beyond taking care of her, especially when she was diagnosed with dementia; two daughters: Kim (Frank) Hogan and Kathy (Jim) Walsh, both of Western Bay; four grandchildren: Kevin (Hilary), Christopher (Iris), Chelsea, and Kendra (Dustin); two great-grandchildren: Evelyn and Isaac; three sisters: Geraldine (Edison) Wareham, Patricia (Chris) Barrow, both of Gambo, and Ruby (Leslie) Legge, Gander; three brothers: Leslie (Bessie), Grand Falls-Windsor, Derrick (Judy), Charlottetown, PEI, and Eddie (Luanne), Bloomfield; two sisters-in-law: Violet (Wayne) Whalen, Western Bay, Sonja Barrow, Maple Ridge, BC, Norma Barrow, Gander, and Edna, La Scie; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Special thank you to 1S and 2S of the Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion. Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay on Tuesday, October 4 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 5 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, October 6 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, October 6 at 2:00 p.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Western Bay. Interment in the United Cemetery, Western Bay North.
