Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Buckle

Passed peacefully away, surrounded by her seven children and their families, at Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, November 11, 2022, Mary Elizabeth Buckle (nee Hurley) age 89 years.
Predeceased by her loving husband Reuben; parents: Maurice and Mary Hurley; great-granddaughter: Angel; brothers: Ron (Kathleen), Harold (Joanna) Hurley, and John (Mame) Hurley; sisters: Bridget (Harold) King and Lucy May (David) Connors.
Leaving to mourn with beautiful memories, three daughters: Carol (Frank) Merrigan, Carbonear, Judy (Tony) McCarthy, Harbour Grace and Wendy (Robert) Coulas, Carbonear; four sons: Tony (Sylvia), Hant’s Harbour, Ron (Janet), Carbonear, Reuben (Shirley), St. John’s, and Gregory, Carbonear; ten grandchildren: Lisa (Rodney) , Liam (Cheryl), Anthony (April), Amanda, Andrew ( Janine), Alanna, Kendell (Steve), Jessica (Joel), Natasha (Justin), and Michael; seven great-grandchildren: Nevaeh, Isaac, Kylie, Myla, Mia, Sam, Hazel, Sammy, and Zoe; sister and best friend: Cecilia (Aaron-dec.) Button, Old Perlican; sister-in-law: Peggy (Gene-dec.) Buckle, Labrador City; home support workers and special friends: Trish, Rebecca, Renee, Denise, Linda, and Danielle; also a large number of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of Carbonear General Hospital for their caring patience and professionalism. Very special thank you to Dr. Howse and the angels dressed as nurses on the 7th floor for your phenomenal care of our precious mom. She was truly blessed to have been surrounded by a care team that treated her as their own. A special thank you to Rev. Irene Sutton and Mary Meadus for the visits, phone calls and hugs.
Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Monday, Nov. 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon; 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.; 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church, Carbonear.
Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear.
