Let's take a trip down memory lane. I first met Isabelle in the early 1960's. I was a teenager and she was 'courting' my oldest brother Phil and so I got to spend time with her and I tried to entertain her. On one occasion I took her on a ride on my Dad's horse and sleigh. She managed to fall off the sleigh and into a snow bank! She always blamed me for pushing her off - I don't have a memory of that. I think she was teasing me! She was like a breath of fresh air into our home. She was funny, very playful, and teased and 'tormented' myself and my sister, albeit in a kind and humorous way. I wanted her to like me as I was very devoted to my brother Phil, and it was obvious that they were smitten with each other. Over the years Isabelle and I spent lots of time together. I would pick her up at the airport in Torbay and we would drive to Harbour Grace so she could visit her family while Phil remained in Labrador City. Even though I moved away, Isabelle was always a part of my life, through letters, regular phone calls, and an occasional visit to see her and Phil and Lauren while they visited Kimberley and Shane in Embrun, and then in Harbour Grace. Isabelle, you will always live in my heart. I love you. P.S. I hope, Phil, that you were not late and that you didn't get lost, as you met your beloved Isabelle once again. Carol Delaney (sister-in-law)
