Passed peacefully away at her residence on Friday, February 24, 2023, Fronie D. Bennett of Harbour Grace, age 80 years. Predeceased by husband: William; parents: Samuel and Florence Rowe; daughters: Gladys (Clyde) Osmond and Marie Lockyer; great-grandson: Kayson; son-in-law: John Lilly; brothers: Noah, Ralph, and Danny (Joan) Rowe; sister: Myrtle (John) Tippett; brother-in-law: Phil Smith; best friend: Pearl Farrell. Leaving to mourn, two daughters: Peggy (Robert) Companion, Middle Sackville, NS and Christine Lilly, Harbour Grace; one son: George (June) Brace, Little Harbour; son-in-law: Wayne Lockyer, Moncton, NB; eight grandchildren: Lynette, Bradley, Nicole, Melissa, Jonathon (Stacy), Krista (Cory), Danny, and Amanda; nine great-grandchildren: Samantha, Shianne, Shayla, Cameron, Alexa, Rylan, Kaiden, Everett, and Shelby; three brothers: William (Ann) Rowe, Chance Cove, Monty (Sheila) Rowe, Goose Bay, and Fred Rowe, Winnipeg, MB; three sisters: Melva Smith, Harbour Grace, Linda (Gerry) Decker, Little Harbour, and Edna (Joe) Walsh, Labrador City; sister-in-law: Sandra Rowe, Victoria, BC; special friends: Dave McCarthy, Joan Mercer, and Toni LeBlanc, all of Harbour Grace; also a large number of other relatives, and friends. Mom loved her family and most who knew her called her Mother. She loved darts and played with Eastern Division, she enjoyed knitting and made many a dish cloth and she was always up for a good game of cards. She settled many a discussion with her knowledge of past events and places “The walking encyclopedia” was only a phone call away. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace on Monday, February 27 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, February 28 at 3:00 p.m. from Noel's Funeral Home, Harbour Grace. Cremation to follow. Interment in St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Grace at a later date. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 70 Ropewalk Lane, St. John’s, NL, A1B 3R9, online at cancer.ca.
