Rose & family, We were saddened to hear of Gordon’s death, although we are also aware of his failing health. We will always remember our times together in Salmon Cove, and how much he loved coming to the Manse for Open House. He would always ensure he had the date and time right well in advance. One of our fondest memories was the Christmas dinners we would share each year. He became a part of our family’s Christmas traditions - and I know he enjoyed that. Gordon’s was a quiet strength steeped deeply in his own traditions - especially around his food! He didn’t ask for much, but knew what he wanted. He possessed an amazing memory and, even last summer when we visited, didn’t hesitate to ask about our children and grandchildren - most of them by name! Rose, you have been Gordon’s strength since his health has failed. We are so proud of how you have continued to care for him despite your own health issues. We are so proud of you. We wish we could be there to support you at this time, but, of course, that’s not possible. We will stay in touch as always, and will see you in four months. Love and blessings to all, Rev.
