Obituary of Irving Wareham

Please share a memory of Irving to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Passed peacefully away with his loving family by his side on Saturday, May 27, 2023, William Irving Wareham, age 92. Predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years: Clara Ruby Wareham, his parents: Robert and Cicily Wareham, sister-in-law: Joyce Noel and parents-in-law: Charles and Anna Noel. Left to celebrate his life are his loving children: Beverly and Terry (Christine); grandson: Nicholas (Mira); sisters: Ethel Simms (James) and Phyllis Langdon (Owen); brother-in-law: Fred Noel, nieces: Kathy Power (Terry), Deanna House (Ray), and Joanne Noel (Greg); nephew: Jonathan Noel. Irving also leaves behind other family and friends in Carbonear as well as at Meadow Creek Retirement Centre. Irving was born and raised in Salmon Cove. He left home at an early age to pursue a teaching career in Labrador, Central NL and eventually back to Conception Bay North where he met the love of his life, Clara Ruby Noel and was married on August 16th, 1957. He was blessed with two children Beverly and Terry and later a grandson, Nicholas. Irving participated on several Church Boards at Bethany United Church, was a member in the Church Choir, a member of the Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #23 and he was involved with the Canadian Rangers, and the Air Cadets. Irving was a great entertainer and storyteller with an excellent memory at 92! He remembered the finest details and he always stayed current with global issues with great interest. Irving had other interests throughout his life: they were the love of photography, meteorology, fishing, hunting, and he was an excellent cook in his spare time. He loved to travel abroad, as well as traveling to every nook and cranny in NL while camping with his wife and children. They continued to travel in their RV well into their senior years. He resided at Meadow Creek Retirement Centre in Paradise, with Clara, for the last seven years. The family would like to thank the staff at Meadow Creek Retirement Centre and the Medical Staff at St. Pats Mercy Home. Also, we would like to thank his long-time friends and community at Bethany United Church in Carbonear. Visitation at Noel’s Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Friday, June 9 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Celebration of life to take place on Friday, June 9 at 2:00 p.m. from Noel’s Memorial Chapel, Water Street, Carbonear. Interment at the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to Bethany United Church, 2 Church Street, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1A9
