I was so sorry today, to learn of Daphne's passing. Susan will be home from Toronto on Thursday and we had planned to visit in the next week or so.
We were cousins, but also good friends, separated by distance and the frailties of old age. Daphne was a gentle lady who will be missed by many, including me.

To the Jeffers Family: I am so saddened to hear of Daphne’s passing. I hold many fond childhood memories of Daphne and Ellis since they often visited their Aunt Beat and Uncle Am Parsons at my grandparent’s home. I always looked forward to their weekend trips from St. John’s! You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this time.

Celeste and I regret that we are not closer to be with you to share memories and celebrate the life of your mother, grandmother and great grandmother. A milestone in Frank's life was your Dad driving him and Roy, his brother from the cove n Freshwater to St. John's for their first jobs at the old General Hospital down on Forest Road. That was in July, 1956 just after writing Grade XI CHE Exams. There has been a lot of water under the bridge since then. We have indeed been blessed to be able to spend our summers in Newfoundland, close to relatives and friends in Carbonear and Freshwater. We have enjoyed many meals and good conversation around the dining room table with your dad and mom. Summer would not be complete without sitting out on the back deck, or looking out on Carbonear Island with your mother, either in Freshwater or Carbonear. Your mother lived a long life and was blessed with relatively good health and the company of close friends close by.
You are much in our thoughts at this time and we look forward to being back on the Rock shortly to share some time together
Sincerely
Celeste and Frank Hawkins

To the Jeffers family,
Sincere condolences on the passing of your mother and grandmother. We were so glad to have the opportunity to meet and get to know her through summer visits during our annual pilgrimage to Freshwater. Mrs Jeffers was a kind, generous and gentle soul who loved company and was always happy to share a laugh and a story over a cup of tea. We will miss her friendly wave at the window and our lovely visits with her.

Jeannette, David, Derek and family, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your sweet Mom. I have so many memories of your home on Whiteway Street that go back over 60 years, as long as Jeannette and I have been friends. Always welcoming and pleasant, she was like a mother figure to me and I can still hear her say “yes my child”, that I took to be such a term of endearment. Over the years I was lucky to be able to visit with her in Freshwater when Jeannette was home and grateful to have seen her recently. May your happy memories dim your sorrow and bring you peace. Sending much love to you all❤️.

Sincere condolences to the Jeffers family. I have many fond memories as a young girl visiting the Jeffers family & her daughter Judy when they would come over to Freshwater in the summer. Mrs. Jeffers always had a welcoming smile for us and never seemed to mind the noise of all of us kids!
I recall the delicious gingerbread cookies that she would give out to us. A truly lovely lady!!

Jeanette, David and Derek, my deepest condolences to you and all the family. Daphne was a beautiful lady who was dearly loved and respected in Freshwater, she will missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. Anytime you went to visit her you were always greeted with her wonderful smile that I will forever remember. Take comfort in knowing that she is at rest and with your sweet Dad and sister. May God give you the strength as you grieve your Mom's passing.

Whenever I think of my Nan, it makes me feel safe and loved. Not only was she my grandmother, she was also the best roommate I ever had. I cherish the time we shared my room in Burlington. She came to stay with us when her daughter Judy, my Mom was ill. She brought so much comfort and stability into my life at a time I was scared and unsure. She kept my room so tidy! She made me toast log cabins and tea. She always had time to give hugs and tell me she loved me. She was a wonderful Grandmother and Mom. I am so blessed she was a part of my Life. I am sure her and my Mom are together now watching over all of us. I will see you both again. Sending you Love from me and Bug.

My memories of growing up next door to your grandmother Jeffrers and your visits during summer vacation and weekends will always bring a smile to my face.
