Obituary of William Riddle

One of the greatest singers the North Shore has ever seen passed peacefully away at Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear, on Thursday, June 15, 2023, William Riddle of Small Point, age 77 years. William was a born entertainer and loved to sing for all audiences. The only thing he loved more were his wife, children, and grandchildren. William was a teacher for 30 years and touched the lives of many of his students who still speak fondly of him. His nickname was 'Care Bear" and that described him perfectly. Always loved, never forgotten and will be forever missed. Leaving to mourn, wife of 53 years, Shirley; two children: Scott (Michelle) and Shelly (Bryan); five grandchildren: Taylor, Faith (Matthew), Cassie (Travis), Bryanna, Caelum; brother: David (Shirley); brothers-in-law: Bill Button (Jean), Alexander (Emy) Button; special nephew, Les Hollett. Predeceased by parents: Wilson & Mary Riddle; sisters: Millicent Hollett (Raymond) and Doreen Kennell (Will); also a large number of other relatives and friends. Thank you to Dr. Becker and all the health care professionals of 3 South, Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion who took such good care of Bill while he was in their care. To honour his wishes, there will be no visitation, funeral service, or interment. As an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to North Shore Ambulance Fund, P. O.
