Obituary of Enid Newell

It is with broken hearts and much love that the family of Enid Grace Newell announce her passing on Saturday, June 24th, 2023. Enid, age 89 years, passed peacefully away in Florida with family who loved her very much at her side. Left to honor her memory are her dedicated daughter and son in law: Joan and Chris Shea; two grandsons whom she adored: Adam Shea (Heather) and Cleary Shea (Jorge); sister-in-law: Betty Slade, who was like a sister to her; many special nieces and nephews whom she loved; best friends: Viola Shea and Mary Schwarz. Sincere gratitude to Nadja Decker, her wonderful caregiver for the past 1 1/2 years. Waiting to welcome her to her eternal home are loving husband, Ronald Newell; her parents: Hannah and William Slade; her sisters: Anna, Sadie, Rachel, Celia, and Viola; brothers: Oscar, Hector, Warrick and Samson; and other family and friends who loved her dearly. She loved a bit of fun and would always pull a prank on us on April fools’ day! She cherished both her Canadian and American family and friends and prayed for us all! Her claim to fame was her delicious banana bread that she enjoyed making and sharing with all! Visitation will be on July 14th from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. at Noel’s Funeral Home, 106 Water Street, Carbonear, NL. Celebration of her life service will take place on July 15th at 11 am at Noel’s Memorial Chapel, Carbonear.
