Passed peacefully away at her residence on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, Mary C. Dwyer of Carbonear, age 81 years. Predeceased by husband: Ben Baker Sr., parents: Ronald and Julia; sister: Joan Arns; brother: Thomas; step-children: Albert, Bonnie, Ben Jr., and Sharon. Leaving to mourn, four daughters: Debbie (Peter) Snow, Brenda (Scott) Young, and Paula King (Stan Moores), all of Carbonear, and Trudy (Craig) Oates, Kingston; two sons: Brian (Kelly) O'Leary, Carbonear and Greg O’Leary, Mount Pearl; nine grandchildren: Rebecca, Angeline, Jessica, Julia, Rachel, Jacob, Sara, Marcus, and Darcy; four brothers: Ned (Gee), Ron (Joan), Jim, and Paul (Marina); six sisters: Marina Brazil, Bride (Larry) Penney, Nora (Bill) Kent, Lillian Hynes, Catherine Hynes, and Paula Quinn; special step-children: Brenda Foley and Beverly Cole and families; the extended Baker families; life-time friend: Anne King; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Special thanks to all of Mom's homecare workers for their care the past few months. Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Friday, August 11 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Saturday, August 12 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church. Cremation to follow. Interment to be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted.
