It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather on Sunday, September 17, 2023, Wilson Dale of Long Beach, Northern Bay, age 82 years. Predeceased by parents: John and Irene (Steele); brother: Garfield; parents-in-law: Samuel and Rebecca Gill. Leaving to mourn, wife: Annie of 61 years; son: Clarke (Olga Brophy), St. John's; daughter: Dana (Chris) Holden, Mount Pearl; six grandchildren: Zachary (Cecilia), Mackenzie, Dillon, Emma, Benjamin, and Jack; two great-grandchildren: Samuel and Gabe; two sisters: Jackie (Harvey) Kirby, Ottawa, ON and Sherry Mullett, Fort Amherst; Aunt Alice (Clayton, deceased) Dale, Northern Bay; sisters-in-law: Sandra Dale, St. John’s, Daphne Gill, St. John's, Sharon (Glenn) Blandford, Gander, and Jody Davis (Derrick Kelloway), Mount Pearl; nieces and nephews: John (Tina), Obie (Wendy), Steven Wilson (Kim), and Sarah (David); grand nieces and nephews: Emily, Owen, Holly, Julia, Cameron, Liam, Shea, and Abe Wilson; life-long friends: Randy and Floss Perry, Newtown, Eldrid (Shirley, deceased) Chislett, Alex and Goldie Garland, Random Island, Judy and Harry Rogers, Mount Pearl, David and Pearl Rogers, Hare Bay, Emma Snelgrove, Mount Pearl, Bruce and Patricia Oliver, Burnt Point, and Aggie (Harry, deceased) Keegan, Northern Bay; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Aunt Alice’s boys: Berkley, Garry, Lester, and David for all their kindness; paramedics: Roy Dwyer, Matthew Dwyer, and Terry Trickett; Dr. Hutton and Dr. Stefanelli and to Lizzy Johnson. For close to 30 years was a lay reader. He preached the gospel of his Lord Jesus Christ wherever he was called to go, giving Jesus all the glory and honor. Visitation at the Salvation Army Citadel, Lower Island Cove on Tuesday, September 19 from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, September 20 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Lower Island Cove.
