Obituary of Ross Riggs

Passed peacefully away after a brief illness at his residence on Saturday, November 25, 2023, Ross Riggs of Toronto, Ontario; formerly of Bay de Verde, age 66 years. Ross’ interest in others, his concern for their well-being, combined with his sense of fun won him many enduring friendships over his 23 years as a registered nurse in Newfoundland and his 18 years at the University Health Network in Toronto. Predeceased by parents: Thomas and Charlotte; brother: Daniel. Leaving to mourn, husband: Peter Palmer; two brothers: Alex (Suzanna), Ottawa, ON and Carl (Karen), Bay de Verde; two sisters: Margaret Riggs and Jackie (Gerard) Broderick, both of Bay de Verde; niece: Megan Riggs; nephews: Jonathan, Nicholas, David, Kyle, and Shawn Riggs, and Kevin Broderick; special friends: Sarah Dwyer and Gerry Saunders; also a large number of other relatives and friends in Newfoundland and Ontario. Visitation at Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Bay de Verde on Wednesday, December 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and from where the Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, December 7 at 2:00 p.m. Interment in Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bay de Verde. A reception will follow at the RC Parish Hall, Bay de Verde. “No matter where you went, or who you met, you always left that little sparkle.”
