Nelson, Phillip and the Sheppard Family Sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. He was one of the very familiar faces of Garlands Lumber Yard when I was growing up. I can remember as a kid taking many trips around Harbour Grace in the back of his delivery pickup, as long as you sat on the spare tire. He worked at the Mill on the Point of Beach for many years, from wooden barrels to Coke boxes and from logs to lumber. George took his job seriously, took pride in it and was good at it.
