Obituary of Phyllis E. Janes

Passed peacefully away at her residence on August 6, 2024, Phyllis Janes of Carbonear, age 93 years. Predeceased by husband, Ambrose; daughter: Barbara Ann; parents: William and Lillian Akerman; sisters: Ginevra, Ann, and Violet: brothers: William and Cecil; parents-in-law: George and Drucella Janes; sisters-in-law: Phyllis, Hilda, Margaret, and Evelyn; brothers-in-law: Clarence, John, Leo, George, and David; and special friend: Mary Doran. Leaving to mourn, sons: Clarence (Ellen) and Jeff (Lila); son-in-law: Brian Doran; 11 grandchildren; 4 adopted grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister: Marjorie Yates; sisters-in-law: Eileen, Debbie, and Iris; special friend: Mary Caravan; and also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. We’ve lived in our house By the side of the road We’ve lived with love and happiness, And sorrow has been part of our load But with help from God We faced our sadness. It was love that brought us there Life can be beautiful. Now my journey is over I’m thankful for my house by the side of the road I’m thankful for my memories in the house by the side of the road.
