Obituary of Eileen Evelyn Sheppard

Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family at Carbonear General Hospital on September 17, 2024, Eileen Evelyn Sheppard (nee Mercer) of Harbour Grace, age 84 years. Predeceased by her parents: John and Gladys Mercer; brothers: Clyde and Harry. Leaving to mourn, husband of 65 years, Neville; daughters: Wanda (Brian) Hargreaves and Lisa (Wade) Evely; son: Paul (Kim); six grandchildren: Christopher, Samantha, Sarah (Jamie), Katie (Ryan), Nikki (Adam), and Josh (Courtney); three great-grandchildren: Cayden, Briar, and Addison; brothers: Lewis (Mary), Bill (Rosalind), George (Marina), Edward (Debbie); sisters: Mildred Coombs, Sadie (George) Adams; sisters-in-law: Donna Skinner, Jane (Eric) Noseworthy; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to nursing staff of the palliative care unit as well as her home care worker, Julia Royal, for their care and compassion. As per Eileen’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation at Noel’s Funeral Home, Harbour Grace on Saturday, September 21 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, September 22 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Sunday, September 22 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Paul's Anglican Church. Inurnment at St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Grace. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to St. Paul’s Anglican Church Cemetery Fund, P. O.
