Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre, St. John's on Friday, September 13, 2024, George M. Whalen of Carbonear, age 75 years. Predeceased by wife: Gertrude; infant daughter; parents: Thomas and Hester. Leaving to mourn, partner: Georgina; daughter: Barbara (Richie); sons: Jay (Stephanie) and Georgie (Denise); grandchildren: Curtis (Angel), Conway, and Barbara Mae; three great-grandchildren; brother: Kevin (Christine); step-brother: Bern (Calvin); sister: Mary (Philip); also a large number of other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to George M. Whalen Memorial Fund, c/o Noel's Funeral Home, 106 Water Street, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1A9.
