Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, November 22, 2024, Gloria Louisa Mercer (nee Thorne) of Carbonear, age 76 years. Predeceased by parents: Nelson and Emma Thorne; brother: Eldon Letto; parents-in-law: Ralph and Frances Downey; sisters-in-law: Marion Mulley and Florence Murphy; brother-in-law: George Mercer. Leaving to mourn, husband of 54 years, Malcolm: daughter: Susan (Jason) Chislett; son: Stephen (Zia); grandchildren: Madison, Aidan, Ella, and Liam; brothers: Leonard (Eleanor- deceased), Junior (Allana), Cliff (Elizabeth), Glenn (Lucy), and Brent (Gail); sisters: Brenda (Tom) Crawford, Sharon (Benny) Wells, and Ellen (Clarence) Rose; sisters-in-law : Francis (Bob) Halleran; brothers-in-law : Lewis (Kim) Mercer, Joe (Val) Mercer, and Jim Murphy; sister-in-law : Josephine Mercer and Sybil Letto; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Wednesday, November 27 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, November 28 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Water Street, Carbonear. Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery Carbonear.
