JOHNSON, Morgan E. - Passed peacefully away at Chancellor Park, St. John's on Monday, September 23, 2013, Morgan E. Johnson of Gull Island, age 79 years. Predeceased by wife: Vera; parents: John and Theresa; sisters: Bridget, Annie, Winnifred, Mary Agnes and Ellen; brothers: Thomas, John and Bernard. Leaving to mourn, one step-daughter: Patsy (Robert) Matthews, St. John's; three step-sons: Jim (Alice) Thorne, Paradise, Ken (Patricia) Thorne, New Melbourne and Gary (Kim) Thorne, Torbay; a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; one sister: Elizabeth McCarthy, Gull Island; also a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A special thank you to the staff of Chancellor Park for your kindness and dedicated care given to Morgan for the past four years. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay on Tuesday from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral Mass to take place on Wednesday, September 25 at 2:00 p.m. from Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Northern Bay. Interment in Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Cemetery, Northern Bay. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society, NL.
