MERCER, Paul G. - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, September 30, 2013, Paul G. Mercer of Victoria, age 69 years. Predeceased by baby boy Paul Jr.; parents: Maxwell and Loraine; brother: Barry; father-in-law: Arthur Clarke; brother-in-law: Albert Burke. Leaving to mourn, wife: Bernice; three daughters: Sherry (Derrick) Davidson, Peterborough, ON, Belinda (Charles) Clarke, Victoria and Bobbi (Mark) Venters, Georgetown, ON; five grandchildren: Gibson, Morgan, Billy, Maya and Timothy; three brothers: David (Peg), St. John's, Bill (Gladys), Spaniard's Bay and Malcolm (Gloria), Bay Roberts; two sisters: Frances Burke, Victoria and Sandra Mercer (Gary), Bay Roberts; mother-in-law: Marjorie Clarke, Victoria; sisters-in-law: Robina (Tom) Rogers, Victoria, Millicent (Will) Mercer, Upper Island Cove, Minerva Clarke (Ryan Hayter), Alberta and Donika Mercer, Bay Roberts; brother-in-law: Granville (Helen) Clarke, Victoria; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Tuesday from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, October 3 at 2:00 p.m. from the United Church, Victoria. Cremation to follow. Inurnment on Friday, October 4 at 3:00 p.m. at the United Cemetery, Victoria. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation.
