DAVIS, Elizabeth L. 'Betty' - Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Friday, February 7, 2014, Elizabeth L. 'Betty' Davis of Carbonear, age 72 years. Predeceased by husband: Carl, parents: James and Edith Paul, brother: Adam Paul. Leaving to mourn, three daughters: Cindy Platoni, New Jersey, USA, Carol Ann (Kerry) Noel and Sherry Carpenter (Howard), both of Carbonear; seven sons: Jeff Dowd, New Jersey, USA, Rick (Lynn), Bristol's Hope, Jamie (Judy), Carbonear, Randy (Wanda), Spaniard's Bay, Todd (Janis), Ontario, Rod (Michelle), Carbonear and Cory (Lori), Ontario; one step-son: George (Karen) Power, Ontario; twenty-one grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four sisters: Minnie Comptello, Florida, USA, Hazel Symon, New York, USA, Muriel (Beaton) Best, Wesleyville and Rachel Handrigan, Dark Cove, Gambo; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, February 11 at 2:00 p.m. from Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment in Bethany United Cemetery, Carbonear. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in Betty's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of NL or a charity of one's choice.
