DELANEY, Gertrude M.- Passed peacefully away at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on Friday, April 18, 2008, Gertrude M. Delaney of Gull Island, age 87 years. Predeceased by husband: Peter; daughter: Elizabeth 'Betty' Hurley; parents: Thomas and Catherine Rodgers; sisters: Johanna Oliver and Genevieve MacDonald. Leaving to mourn, one daughter: Christine (Harvey) Button, Old Perlican; five sons: Cyril (Gen), Toronto, ON, Philip, Gull Island, Francis (Maisie), Fredericton, Daniel (Patsy), Gull Island and Joseph (Beverly), Gull Island; son-in-law: John Hurley, Kingston; eighteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother: James (Alice) Rodgers, Burnt Point; two sisters: Margaret Preston, Western Bay and Madeline (Chris) Kavanagh, Flatrock; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at NOEL'S FUNERAL HOME, MAIN HIGHWAY, WESTERN BAY. Funeral mass to take place on Monday, April 21 at 10:00 a.m. from Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Northern Bay. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
