RODGERS, James 'Jim' - Passed peacefully away at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, James 'Jim' Rodgers of Burnt Point, age 87 years. Predeceased by infant children: Thomas and Catherine; parents: Thomas and Catherine; sisters: Genevieve (Patrick), Johannah (Joseph), Gertrude (Peter), Margaret and Elizabeth; brother: Patrick. Leaving to mourn, wife: Alice; three daughters: Sheila (Mark) Kelly, Grand Falls, Mary (Rod) Vardy and Shelly Rodgers, both of Clarenville; four sons: Chris (Dena), Torbay, Edwin (Angela), Adeytown, Jim (Alice), Victoria and Patrick (Sharon), Fort McMurray, AB; six grandchildren: Ben (Denise), Matthew, Sarah (Alex), Jeremy (Tonya), Olivia and Caleb; one sister: Madeline (Chris) Kavanagh, Flatrock; sister-in-law: Anne Hogan, Northern Bay; also a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay with visitation hours on Thursday from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Saturday, March 15 at 10:30 a.m. from Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Northern Bay. Interment in Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Cemetery, Northern Bay. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
