ROSE, Samson - Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, March 14, 2014, Samson Rose of Salmon Cove, age 81 years. Predeceased by parents: William and Aseneth; sister: Marjorie; brother: Harold. Leaving to mourn, wife: Carol (nee Spurrell); two daughters: Cheryl Rose (Gene O'Grady), Carbonear and Maryette (Jim) Sheppard, Holyrood; two sons: Darrell (Stephanie), Salmon Cove and Barry (Vanessa), Victoria; eight grandchildren: Samantha (Brad), Kristen (Shane), Cheryl (Cody), Douglas, Madison, Tiffany, Drake and Chloe; one brother: William (Catherine), Carbonear; two sisters: Enid (Roy) Oldford, Port Blandford and Annie Squires, Old Perlican; brother-in-law: Morley (Katie) Button, Old Perlican; sisters-in-law: Florence Rose, Salmon Cove and Beulah Spurrell (Winston Bradbury), Harbour Grace South; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Monday, March 17 at 2:00 p.m. from Riverside United Church, Salmon Cove. Interment in Riverside United Cemetery, Salmon Cove. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to Daffodil Place c/o Canadian Cancer Society, P.O.
