Maysie (Babb) Moores (1912-2014) Quietly and peacefully on April 10, 2014 Maysie entered into eternal rest at the Interfaith Home in Carbonear. She was born in the community of Bryant's Cove to William and Bertha Babb on September 14, 1912, and had eight siblings. She was predeceased by her sisters, Pearl and Doris, and her brothers, Graham, Cyril, Randell and William, and by her darling daughter, Alexis. She is survived by her sister, Ida Weeks and brother, Lorenzo Babb, her sisters-in-law, Lillian Babb, Dorothy Moores and Mildred Moores, her brother-in-law, Carl Moores (Shirley) and a multitude of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Maysie married Alec Moores in 1946. She will be missed by Alec, her sons, Douglas (Chris), David (Norma) and Darroch and also her grandchildren, Gregory (Julie), Ian (Kim), Beth (Matthew), Janna (Neil), Carl (Susan), Andrew (Shelley), Joanne (Thomas), Neal and Craig (Carrie). Maysie also has fourteen great-grandchildren, Sara, Lauren, Roland, Victor, Nolan, Graham, Ewan, Emma, Paige, Drew, Alec, Carmen, Lulu and Rex. Maysie lived a full, productive and remarkable life over her 101 years. She was dedicated and devoted to her whole family and proud of her Newfoundland heritage. In her early years she was a secretary at Harvey & Company in St. John's. Following her marriage to Alec, they lived at Harbour Grace where they raised their family. She was a woman of faith who took an active role in St. Paul's Church and also other organizations in the Town of Harbour Grace. She was an avid gardener and took great pride in cultivating and nurturing her beautiful flowers and shrubs. She was a kind and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a devoted loving wife. The family extends sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Karunanithy and all the other dedicated staff at the Interfaith Home in Carbonear. Also special thanks to her caregivers, Flo, Margaret, Mary, Julie and Michelle. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Harbour Grace on Saturday from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Monday, April 14 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Paul's Anglican Church, Harbour Grace. Interment in St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Grace. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in Maysie's memory may be made to St. Paul's Anglican Church, P.O. Box 28, Harbour Grace, NL, A0A 2M0.
