PENNEY, Viola F. - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, July 11, 2014, Viola F. Penney of Salmon Cove, age 79 years. Predeceased by husband: William, son: Leslie, son-in-law: Harold, parents: George and Carrie Hiscock, brother: John. Leaving to mourn, two daughters: Margaret (Fred), Victoria and Florence (Douglas) Corcoran, Salmon Cove; three sons: David (Pearl), Harbour Grace, Brian (Ann Marie), Salmon Cove and Paul (Joan), Victoria; daughter-in-law: Katherine Penney, Western Bay; ten grandchildren: Tammy, Kelly (Billy), Joni, Paula (Devon), Nicole (Tommy), Christina, Terri-Lynn (Stephen), Carrie (Matt), Sean (Elizabeth) and Amanda (Stephen); three great-grandchildren: Chloe, Abby and Aiden; one sister: Jean (Fred, deceased) Rideout, Seal Cove, White Bay; sister-in-law: Betty Hiscock, Harbour Grace; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Friday, 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Sunday, July 13 at 2:00 p.m. from Riverside United Church, Salmon Cove. Interment in the United Cemetery, Salmon Cove. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Riverside United Church Window Fund.
