My Beautiful Sister......it's been a year now since I last saw your smile and heard your laughter. I miss you so much and every memory we've shared is cherished every day. I pray every night that Mom and Dad are taking care of you. To quote one of your favourite sayings "Loved you yesterday, Love you still, Always have, Always will"
I look toward heaven each night
To find the brightest star
I blow a kiss carried by love
For I know that's where you are
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand until we meet again.
Love Forever and Always - Carm

To: Bern, Mike, Chris and Farrell family and to Susan, Carmel Anne, Craig, Mike and their families. So very sorry to hear of Debbie's sudden passing while we were travelling out of Province. We were shocked and saddened by the news. We will be missing her company especially at the annual Powers/Haire Christmas gatherings at Sue and Ken's in Torbay where we shared stories, laughs and a great "feed". May she rest in peace. In the corner of my head, I am still hoping that this isn't true. My Aunt Debbie was always willing to help anyone who needed her. She would always welcome you with a smile that lit up the room and her laughter was delightfully contagious . Let her spirit fill you with peace, strength, and love , may it help the pain decease, as each day that brings a glorious dawn , create a inner peace .

Words seem inadequate to express the sadness I feel about Aunt Debbie's sudden passing. She was one of the sweetest, most caring and generous people I have ever known. If I were to describe her in just one word, it would have to be: selfless. Just one example would be her commitment to her role as my godmother. I've been living away from home for 10 years now, but every birthday and special occasion I could always count on a card from "Auntie Debbles" as we sometimes called her. My fondest memories of Aunt Debbie have to be of her in the kitchen, with rudy cheeks, a warm smile and a glint in her eye cooking up a storm like it was no work at all. Nothing made her happier than to feed a kitchen full of family and no one ever left her house hungry! A nurse, an active volunteer in her church and community, a loving sister, wife, mother and a very proud grandmother of three, she was true meaning of caregiver and an angel on earth to many of us. And Saturday evening, here in Montreal, confirmed this notion for me. After 2 days of rain and thunderstorms, the skies suddenly cleared to reveal beautiful shades of pink and purple with a golden light that reflected off the building tops. There was no word to describe it other than heavenly, and I just knew it that it was her. I found some comfort in knowing that I could feel her presence in such ways, and that she will still be watching out for all of us, just from her new perch in the clouds. To Uncle Bern, Chris, Michael, Mom, Aunt Carmel-Ann, Unlce Craig & Mike, and to all my family at home, it pains me to not be with you all during this time. Know that I am thinking of you all and of Aunt Debbie, and that I am sending you lots of love. Des gros bisous from Stephanie, Thibault & baby.

To the Farrell Family - I had the pleasure of working with Debbie for several years before she retired. Debbie was well known in health care as a remarkable nurse who gave so much of herself, who cared tirelessly and compassionately for others and always had time for those who needed her - whether they were staff, residents or family members. Debbie was a role model for many of us as she embodied the spirit of caregiving. She will be greatly missed but her legacy in health care will live on. My sincere condolences to her family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time.

Bern & Family & Haire Family I was both saddened & shocked by Debbie's sudden passing . I really got to know Debbie through the St Vincent de Paul Society. The Food bank was one of her passions. She was so dedicated to this organization. Debbie & I were paired up for this service and I learned a lot from her and about her. I will definitely miss my buddy. She was a self less person who put others before herself . ( I'm sure something you already know ). She gave and looked for nothing in return . During our time together she spoke fondly of her family and in particular her grandchildren. She looked forward to her family gathering a few weeks ago. Her passing is a great loss to the church community at large. Not to mention her family. Debbie enjoyed a laugh and we shared many of them. I'm at a loss as to how to express my sympathy to you but she was a good person and is in a good place . Please accept my sympathy and pray to God that he will bring you and your family through this difficult time. She will surely be missed by many . Take care and God Bless
