BUTT, John A.- Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, John A. Butt of Carbonear, age 87 years. Predeceased by wife: Miriam P. 'Minnie'; son: Harold; daughter: Karen; sons-in-law: Maurice Curran and John Carpenter; sisters: Florence, Margaret, Annie and Jean; brother: Edward. Leaving to mourn: five daughters: Annie Curran, Carbonear, Marion (Donald) Sheppard, Spaniard's Bay, Shirley (Cyril) Griffin and Myrtle Carpenter, both of Carbonear and Gail Spracklin, Shearstown; five sons: John (Ann Reardon), St. John's, Graham (Shirley) and Leslie (Diane), both of Carbonear, Cyril (Sherri), St. John's and Gary (Carol), Carbonear; twenty-five grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; six brothers: Steve (Gertrude) and Harold, both of St. John's, Jerry, Vermont, USA, Les (Myrtle), Gander, Bill (Pauline), Corner Brook and Graham (Joan), New Harbour; one sister: Gladys (Ron) Osbourne, Stephenville; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, December 6 at 2:00 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church, Carbonear. Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Interfaith Cemetery Fund, Carbonear.
