SOPER, Rachel W. (nee Trickett) - Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, Rachel W. Soper (nee Trickett) of Carbonear, age 91 years. Predeceased by husband: William W. and brother: Warrick. Leaving to mourn, one daughter: June (Rex) Cotter, Carbonear; three sons: David (Linda), Burlington, ON, Ernest (Nancy) Fredericton, NB and William 'Bill' (Jane), Labrador City; eight grandchildren: Heather (Roger), Robert (Carol Ann), Michael, June (Scott), Lisa (Mark), Mark, Matthew and Katie; seven great-grandchildren: Nathan, Stephen, Rachael, Britany, Sharon, Sebastian and Eathan; two sisters: Minnie Burt, Masonic Park, St. John's and Doris Diamond, St. Luke's Home, St. John's; sisters-in-law: Marion Trickett, Brigus and Lillian Babb, Harbour Grace; brothers-in-law: Charles (Winnie) Soper, Carbonear, Ken (Marjorie) Soper, Scarborough, ON, Don (Marie) Soper, Halifax, NS, Lloyd (Lorna) Soper, Dartmouth, NS; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at NOEL'S FUNERAL HOME, WATER STREET, CARBONEAR with visitation hours by request of the family on Thursday, April 23 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday, April 24 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, April 25 at 11:00 a.m. from Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Trinity Conception Shriners' Patient Transportation Fund.
