Obituary of Violet Parsons

PARSONS, Violet- Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, June 8, 2009, Violet Parsons of Victoria, age 87 years. Predeceased by husband: Reginald; daughter: Clara; parents: Henry and Hazel Sutton; brothers: Chesley, Silas, John, William, Malcolm and Samuel; sisters: Sara, Elizabeth and Joanna; son-in-law: Ed Yetman. Leaving to mourn: eight daughters: Margaret (Walt) Penney, Toronto, ON, Melvina (Jim) Morrissey, Victoria, Vickie, (Jim) Cole, AB, Violet (George) White, Victoria, Gladys (Dave) Simpson, Toronto, ON, Hazel Parsons and Shirley (Dave) Cumby, both of Harbour Grace and Bernice Parsons (Allison Growse), Hartland, NB; five sons: Dave (Laura), Roy (Shirley), Johnny (Cynthia) and Kevin (Vicki), all of Victoria and Reg (Sandra),St. John's; forty-one grandchildren; forty-seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister: Mary Jane Burke, Victoria; very special grandchildren: Shawn and Brianna; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, June 10 at 2:00 p.m. from the United Church and Cemetery, Victoria. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
