Dear Guy & Family : I was suddenly saddened today on hearing of Judy's passing. The fight was long but she fought it hard, now she is at peace. I have had you both in my prayers and in my thoughts for as long as she was sick. She was brave, and her concern was always about the family. She & I had a great chat at Jessica Butt's wedding last year, and she was determined to beat it, but I guess the Good Lord had another plan for her. God Bless you all. Sorry this is late coming, but as I said , I only learned of her passing today. You will forever be in my thoughts & prayers. Janie .... I know you will miss her. Take care of yourselves & know that you are never far from my thoughts. Dona ( Butt ) Molloy & Family St. Lawrence

Guy, Kellie, Danielle, Tara and families. My thoughts are with you guys. Tina and I have been talking lots about Judy over the past few weeks. Remembering times around the bay, having good times with great people. I found myself hanging around your house with your whole family, whether it was late nights by the fire or at the horseshoe pit. Judy has been an important part of my life from way back when we all ran around on the rocks only to hear her bellowing from (what seemed like) miles away......Get off dem rocks!! If it wasn't that, we all knew when it was dinner time or time for Tara and Danielle to go home cause Judy could throw her voice from The Lane to Broad Cove Beach without straining. She had a great heart and cared for us all. I'll miss you Aunt Judy.

Danielle and family- I am so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. You are all in my thoughts during this impossible time. There's a poem called "Mother" that I think is beautiful, I've included an exerpt of it with the hopes that it might provide if only a tiny bit of comfort. "Your Mother is always with you.... She's the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street; she's the smell of bleach in your freshly laundered socks; she's the cool hand on your brow when you're not well. Your Mother lives inside your laughter and she's crystallized in every tear drop. She's the place you came from, your first home; and she's the map you follow with every step you take. She's your first love and your first heartbreak, and nothing on earth can separate you." Let me know if you need anything, Danielle. Daniella Randell

Guy and the Girls & family, In everyone’s life someone comes along that makes a difference – and even though as a family you probably never think of it – I think of it weekly – being thousands of miles away from home you take time to remember – remember the laughter, the tears and the love, shared with your friends and I don’t know of any family of friends that ever meant more to me than you guys. Many wish decisions in my life were made thanks to you guys. Judy was such a caring, loving person and I know where she is today she is much needed - and I know she is running around preparing the place and getting everything ready for when we all get to join her …. Dear Guy & Family, My deepest sympathy to your entire family at this difficult time. I can't believe that she is gone.I only wish that I would've had the chance to see her again, but with moving away, unfortunately you tend to lose touch.I'll never forget her as my Girl Guide Leader and many years later, a co-worker. On a lighter note, I can honestly say in Girl Guides, she kept me on my toes, as I certainly never wanted to make her upset!! As an adult and working with her at Legrow's Travel, I came to know a very different Judy, who was still forward in speech, but a very sweet and caring individual, and that is how I'll always remember her. To the Bishop Family, My heart goes out to you in this time of mourning. I remember Judy being funny, quick witted and so kind to me, especially when I felt I didn't have a place in the world to belong. She always made me laugh, and I loved the times we used to spend at the kitchen table around the bay, or in her house in St. John's. I especially remember her pulling me into her arms at Pappy's funeral. Judy always made me feel like part of the family. I am so sorry she is gone, but I do hope that now she can rest easy, out of any pain or discomfort. To Kellie, Steve and Emily...so sorry to hear of your mom's passing.I worked Friday night and missed you only by a short time. I would have liked to have been there for you when she passed , but you know how it is Kellie, "death waits for nobody".I know that these pass few months you have been everybody's Rock, but remember to take time for yourself . Your mom was a beautiful lady, always there to lend a hand. These things she believed in she instilled in her children and grandchildren. How many more people do you know would battle a monster like cancer, go through the hellish torture of chemo and still take the time to serve at the church garden party. She bore her cross well Kelly. I'm sure she found comfort in knowing that the child she carried right under her heart carried her in her final days. You were her daughter, her caregiver, her nurse and her voice. I'm sure that you find comfort in knowing that"she was ready". She knew what was waiting for her. There are angels among us and I'm sure your mom is one of them. She'll rest peacefully Kelly because she's gone home to Jesus. And if I know Kelly, like I think I know Kelly, your not dwelling on your mom's death...Your rejoicing in her life. Rmember that your friends are not far away and remember when that ROCK starts to feel like she's starting to weather, call on your friends . Take care of yourself and eachother.

Guy, Kellie, Tara, Danielle and families, just want you to know that I am thinking about you and hoping that you are doing okay. I thought the world of Judy who welcomed me into her family as if I was one of her own. Throughout the years, Judy played so many roles in our family from travel agent, person who always remembered my kids to great friend and listener. Judy saved my ass so many times by opening her home, ears, and heart so that I could vent. I never missed my mom while around the bay as Judy assumed that role so well ( she could even nag at me like mom does). She always offered such great advice like don't sit on anything cold as I'd get a cold "up trew me!!!" hee, hee. Judy was so courageous and always had such a great sense of humor even through such hard times. I also loved the fact that she could swear more than me!!!! You guys take care of each other and hopefully all your good memories will help you get through this sad time in your lives. This Christmas, I will light my ceramic tree that Judy gave me when I got married and know that we now have another angel watching over me and my family. Sending lots of love to all of you!!! xoxo Tina

I met Judy & Guy around 1984, when I lived on Exmouth Street. She was such a fun-loving person with a great sense of humour. I kept in touch with her in the past couple of years or so by email. It is very sad, indeed, to learn of Judy's passing. A life cut short, too soon. I will always have fond memories of her. She was a strong and courageous lady.

Guy, Tara, Danielle, Kellie and families, I was deeply saddened to learn Judy had lost her brave battle. I use to attend ceramics with her and it was a time I looked forward to. It was a joy to hear about her family and her many stories she had of her adventures. These times I will cherish for a lifetime. I hope the stories and adventures you all have had together help you through this difficult time and times ahead. Her love for you all was evident to all who knew her. God Bless you all.

I especially remember Judy (and you Guy and Kellie) when I went to university for the first time. It was the first time in my life that I had been away from home for more than a day. It was a time of separation, loneliness and growing up fast. Judy was like a third sister and mother to me. I admired her competency, confidence and the wisdom of her straight forward uprightness. She managed regally with having four strangers in her home (her personal space) and a baby and husband. She was ever sincerely open to, and receiving of, people. We share in your sorrow while simultaneously giving thanks for her. It is one of those times when we grieve not being at home.
