THISTLE, William E.- Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, William E. Thistle of Small Point, age 78 years. Predeceased by wife: Ada; son: Rick; parents: Edward and Elizabeth. Leaving to mourn, one daughter: Mary Hart, Cambridge, ON; four sons: Wayne, Small Point, Derrick, Carbonear, George and Cyrus, both of Alberta; eight grandchildren; special caregiver: Brenda Butt; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay. Funeral service to take place on Friday, March 5 at 2:30 p.m. from Ocean View United Church, Broad Cove. Interment in the United Cemetery, Broad Cove. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in William's memory may be made to the William Thistle Memorial Fund
