GARLAND, Shirley G. - Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, March 26, 2010, Shirley G. Garland (nee Wilkins) of Carbonear, age 62 years. Predeceased by father: Clarence Wilkins; parents-in-law: Chester and Sophie Garland. Leaving to mourn, husband: Melvin; sons: Scott (Nicole) and Craig (Charlene), both of Calgary, AB; her precious grandchildren: Aoife, Charlie and Maddie; much loved mother: Nettie Wilkins, St. John's; sisters: Nell (Ray) Hart, Mount Pearl and Linda (Edward) Murray, St. John's; brother: Bruce (Michelle) Wilkins, Mount Pearl; nieces: Rhonda (Michael) Maher, Gander, Rayleen (Tom) Hogan, Mount Pearl, Amanda and Laura Wilkins, St. John's; nephew: Christopher Murray, St. John's; also a large number of other relatives and close friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Saturday, March 27 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:30 p.m., Sunday, March 28 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. and Monday, March 29 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Monday, March 29 at 2:00 p.m. from Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Shirley's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
