MOORES, George William - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Saturday, April 24, 2010, George William Moores of Carbonear, age 100 years. Predeceased by wife: Effie; parents: John and Phoebe; brothers: John, Walter and Roy; two infant brothers; son-in-law: Leslie H. Moore. Leaving to mourn, two daughters: Doreen Moore, St. John's and Eleanor Moores, Carbonear; one son: Charles (Janice), St. John's; three grandchildren: Derek (Pamela), Lesley-Anne and Jennifer (Michael) Faber; one great-grandson: Trenton Edward Faber; brother: Charles (Elizabeth), St. John's; sisters-in-law: Carrie Moores, Carbonear and Susan (Harold) Baggott, Toronto, Ontario; brothers-in-law: Thomas (Gertrude) Gillingham and Clarence Garland, both of Lower Island Cove and Sam (Annie May) Gillingham, Old Perlican; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Monday, April 26 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, April 27 at 2:00 p.m. from Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment in Bethany United Cemetery, Carbonear. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in George's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
