Obituary of Richard Rorke

Passed peacefully away at the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre, St. John's on Sunday, May 30, 2010, Richard C.A. Rorke of St. John's; formerly of Carbonear, age 76 years. Predeceased by parents: John and Nelia; brother: John; sisters: Betty and Mary. Leaving to mourn, loving and devoted wife, Patricia; two daughters: Rev. Diane (Marc) Knowles, Barrie, ON and Lorna (Peter) Gillies, Barrie, ON; two sons: Richard F. (Amelia) and Dr. Stewart (Annette), both of St. John's; eight grandchildren: Megan Rorke; Joshua and Rebecca Knowles; Katie, Jonathan and Nolan Rorke; Leah and Noah Gillies; brother-in-law: Fred (Sandra) Thistle, Victoria; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, Hamilton Avenue, St. John's with visitation hours on Tuesday, June 1 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., then resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Wednesday, June 2 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, June 2 at 2 p.m. from Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Inurnment in Bethany United Cemetery, Carbonear. In lieu of flowers donations in Richard's memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation or to Bethany United Cemetery, Carbonear.
