I will always remember my summer vacations that I spent with Aunt Blanche & Uncle Albert. Coming from the big city of Toronto to spend time in Victoria were some of the best highlights of my youth. My parents entrusted me to their care, which says a lot about the way they felt about Aunt Blanche will always remember Aunt Blanche for her quite manner and the respect she gave everyone no matter what their age.
While I stayed with them she gave me the freedom I wanted with the expectation that I would not disappoint her.
I remember helping in the store and pumping gas when I was asked too. Aunt Blanch was always sure to keep my cousin and I out from underfoot of Uncle Albert while he tended to barber shop and customers.
I remember fun nights in the store with lots of friends gathering to eat, drink and tell stories. The barber shop I think was just an extension of their efforts in bring the people of Victoria together.
My favorite phrase coming from Aunt Blanche was "Yes my Dear". The kitchen was common place to talk up a storm as well.
She took me to church with her each Sunday, and I enjoyed the Penticostal atmosphere.
I loved my Aunt Blanche and I will deeply miss her but the memories that I have will never fade.

Ruby: Please accept, on behalf of all of the Moores family, my express personal sympathies on the passing of your sister, Blanche. I remember her, as most people in Victoria, as a very kind and compassionate individual. In the many times that I visited her home for tea and conversation, she was forever friendly, extraordinarily hospitable and never with a bad word to say about anybody. She was committed to her family, committed to her community and, most of all, committed to her church. It is true, too, Ruby that you are to be commended for the many personal sacrifices that you have made and the seemingly, unfettered compassion that you have shown over the past several years in the care that you have given to Blanche. I know that she was grateful for your companionship and we are all very proud of you. Again, my sincere condolences to you and your children and all of my first cousins.

Knowing there are cousins, aunts & uncles and grandparents near, gives a child a feeling of belonging. I felt important and safe as I grew up next to you in Victoria. Thanks for all the wonderful memories. I will never forget you and Uncle Al. Marsha
