PENNEY, Leslie Newman - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, July 2, 2010, Leslie Newman Penney of Salmon Cove, age 46 years. Predeceased by father: William; mother-in-law: Muriel Halliday; brother-in-law: Harold Clarke. Leaving to mourn, wife: Katherine; two daughters: Nicole and Carrie; mother: Viola Penney, Salmon Cove; three brothers: David (Pearl), Harbour Grace Brian (Ann Marie), Salmon Cove and Paul (Joan), Carbonear; two sisters: Margaret Clarke (Fred Priddle), Victoria and Florence (Douglas) Corcoran, Salmon Cove; father-in-law: Philip Joseph Halliday, Northern Bay; brothers-in-law: Clyde (Debra) Halliday, Toronto, Derrick (Tina) Halliday and Robert (Lisa) Halliday, both of Northern Bay; sister-in-law: Elizabeth (Byron) Rose, Salmon Cove; also a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Funeral service to take place on Monday, July 5 at 2:00 p.m. from Riverside United Church, Salmon Cove. Interment in Riverside United Cemetery, Salmon Cove. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Leslie Newman Penney Memorial Fund.
