PENNEY, Leah Beatrice - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, April 5, 2003, Leah Beatrice Penney of Salmon Cove, age 90 years. Predeceased by husband Gilbert; son: Edison; daughter-in-law: Melena; infant daughter: Viola; infant son: Clarence; brother: Ches; sister: Janie. Leaving to mourn: one daughter: Elaine (Walter) Butt, Florida, USA; one son: Eric (Evelyn), Salmon Cove; fifteen grandchildren: Gloria (Jim), Viola (Dave), Marilyn (Fred), Rosalind (Don), Beatrice, Shirley (Roy), Marjorie (John), Emmie, Edison, Lorraine (Bert), Ruby (Dennis), Pauline (Tony), Clyde (Kathy), Elaine (Brent) and Elaine (Walter); twenty-eight great-grandchildren: Melena (George), Jason, Sheldon, Stephanie, Scott, Glenda, Sara Jean, Donald, Matthew, Bradley, Kimberly, Johnny, April, Ivan, James, Kimberley, Lesley, Lisa, Melissa, Stacey, Dennis, David, Eric, Emily, Erica, Amanda, Brendon and Jason; one great-great-grandchild: Stephanie; four brothers: Reuben (Marjorie), James, Herbert and Eugene (Lillian); one sister: Edna (Sandy) Butt.; and also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear until 12:00 noon Tuesday, April 8. Funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. from Riverside United Church and Cemetery, Salmon Cove. In lieu of flowers; as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Riverside United Church, Salmon Cove.
