To Marilyn's Family: When Marilyn came to live in Whiteway she became a friend to many people; I am glad to have met Marilyn and to be able to say I considered her a friend. She will be dearly missed by many including my daughter Courtney whom Marilyn befriended when she worked at Brown's. Please accept my condolences on behalf of our family. The passage below, in my mind, sums up how Marilyn would want you to go on.... THE LEGACY When I die, give what is left of me to my children. If you need to cry, cry for your brothers walking beside you. Put your arms around anyone and give them what you need to give me. I want to leave you with something; something better than words or sounds. Look for me in the people that I have known and loved. And if you cannot live without me, then let me live on in your eyes, your mind, and your acts of kindness. You can love me most by letting hands touch hands and letting go of children that need to be free. Love does not die, people do. So when all that is left of me is love..... Give me away. Again, please know my thoughts and prayers are with you all as you go through this difficult time in your lives. We now have another angel watching over us!

To Hartley,& the Antle &Parsons Families,I wish to send my sincere condolences on Marilyn's passing.Although I did not know her well ,each time I saw her ,she always smiled, and Marilyn's smile could light up a room. Marilyn didn't let the desease that she so bravely fought take her smile away, and to me,this shows as well the courage and faith she had. This speaks volumes of the person that Marilyn was. Many people will fondly remember her for their own personal reasons, I will remember her friendly smile. Hartley, although you and Marilyn had only a short time together, the love and happiness you shared was very obvious to everyone who saw you together. It was a joy to see.I hope the memeories that you two made while together will in time turn your heartache into a smile when you think of her. May God be with you all and comfort you in your time of loss.

To Hartley, Antle and Parsons families. It was an honor having Marilyn as part of the Slade family for the pass couple years. She touched our hearts in many ways and left many memories for us to remember her by. Simple things like sitting around the table at my moms to have a chat, to bringing the boys coffee while they shingled my dads house this pass summer. I remember that day like yesterday. I was more worried about her falling of the porch roof then she was. But that's the way she was. Lived each day like it was her last. Nothing stopped her from living life to it's fullest. She is in god's hands now. Free at last. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.

There are to many memories to share on here but i love to know how many times i come down over the stairs and go to her apartment with my cup of tea in my hand lol and she use to say you know i have tea bags and that here hahahahah, i use to say only dropped down for a minutes and be down there for 2 hours lol, the day i walked in and she was changing around her living room it was so funny, i came in and she said good your here i said why she said please tell me where to put this will ya, and i remember jeff laughing saying you really dont want her to tell ya that do ya lol and she laughed so hard she had to sit down, i did help her finish her living room and then we sat down and enjoyed a nice cup of tea and talked for hours. And how many times she say to me your cat is gone nuts again its runs back and forth up there and all i hear is patter of her feet going across the floor, she told me after i moved out she missed the sound of the cat and i joked with her and said oh you dont miss me you miss the cat, she said you knows i means ya fool and laughed at me, she had a wonderful laugh and a bright smile, she always lite up a room when she walked in, you was always a mudder to me after my own mom passed, love you always mudder xoxoxoxox

Marilyn and I grew up together. We only lived across the garden from each other. We played cobbie *house) together, swam together and in general shared lives together. I remember how we used to go berry picking on Staynors Hill. Marilyn always managed to fill her bucket but I would eat mine and tell mom "A man chased us and I tripped and lost mine." Marilyn would give me some of hers, thats just how she was. Years later, we double dated.. I arranged a blind date and afterwards she told her dad, "He's some clean Dad boy. You won't have to scrape any barnacles off him". To borrow a line from a song, " Your footsteps will always fall here, on the top of Staynor's Hill, Your candles' burnt out long before your memory evr will. " Good-bye Marilyn, see you on the farside banks of Jordan!

To: The Parson and Extended Families Sorry to hear of Marilyn's passing. Marilyn was a student of mine during the first year of my teaching career. I knew her as an elementary student and later as an adult. To me, she was an individual with such a beautiful personality and smile. Earth's loss has become heaven's gain. Philippians 1:21 states: " For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Let the Lord be your source of strength and comfort in the days, weeks and months ahead. God understands your pain and loss and rest assured that He is the great comforter. You are in my prayers and thoughts at this time. John A. Murray - Kamloops, BC

Jeffrey, Jimmy & Family I am sorry to hear of your mothers passing.I remember your mom as a kind, great spirited person. Both her and I worked together 1996 (mary browns)and what times we used to have. Both myself and Claudette worked with her on many night shifts and had fun being together as such crazy ladies from the church. :) Great times together thats for sure and she holds such good memories in my heart. She was such a good encourager to her friends and family. I spoke with her a few months ago at the mall and she had such a good spirit that day and when I ask her "how are ya doing my darling?", she would come back and say, "I am doing ok today". Then would ask me how I was. She was always the one who made you feel special even if you were having a health problem of your own or just having a bad day. You should be so proud to have had the opportunity to have such a great mother and friend. She will be greatly missed and I will miss her smile. The smile that would always greet you with words of encouragement. Heaven has another angel! I would like to think....no..let me rephrase that, I know that heaven is rejoicing because they have recieved another angel and can you just imagine how many friends and family she had waiting for her there? What a moment that must of been. However, we can only dream and pray that heaven is better then this earth and with no suffering or pain, she is free from it all. She is smiling as she looks down on you today and may you have peace knowing she is welcomed, with open arms in heaven and that she isn't alone. Our family has just gone through the loss of a family member, Gord Dean (my uncle) and each day passes by, I think of him. To know that God had something better for him even through the last days of battling cancer. God always sees the BIGGER picture and brings HIS children home in HIS own Timing. Know today that your mother is resting in the arms of Christ and she is alive and well once again...until we all meet again. I will be praying for you and your families as you go through these days ahead, may you find peace and comfort knowing that she is no longer battling cancer but rejoicing with the Lord. Thinking of you all... Jason & Sheena Martin

Pauline and Family, Jeff and Jamie: Marilyn is at rest. You are all heartbroken now as am I. You must all be strong now for each other and because Marilyn would have wanted it. God tells us that " I am the way and the life" and it is said that when we are at our lowest, most hurting selves He is there to hold, comfort and care for us. May you find strength from His Word and comfort in knowing that you are all in His loving, tender embrace at this time. God Bless Wanda and Gene White

Heartly, Antle and Parsons family, So sorry to hear of Marilyn's passing..And as the saying goes "god needed a new angel and he only takes the best" and today when I heard the sad news, that was the first thought that came to my mind. Marilyn was a beautiful person, inside and out...she have touched the hearts of so many..including my own mother, as sick as Marilyn was she came to see my mom when she become ill herself and I remember my Mom being over joyed with the visit that they had together and said to me, that she couldn't get over how strong of a women that Marilyn was. That to me shows what kind of person she truly is...that as sick as what she was she made time and put her best foot forward and came to my mother when she needed her. My Mom is still very sick in IUC, and is very ill but have asked me how Marilyn was doing, She truly touched moms heart. Marilyn is very much a inspiration to anyone who is fighting a illness. Please know that we are thinking about you all at this very sad time in your life. Always know that she is now free of suffering and today we have all gained a new Angel. Thinking of you today, tomorrow and the days that fallow!! Robin and Shawn Slade
