Alma: Charl, Isabel, & family I am so sorry & sad to hear of Myrtle's passing. May your sad hearts find comfort in some small way knowing my thoughts & prayers are with you all. I will always have fond memories of Myrtle when she came home on weekends to Mount Hawk in Lower Island Cove, I would be visiting you Alma and Myrtle would insist on me having a cup of tea & she would bring out her delicious "Date Bread" I've tried many date bread recipies & none has matched hers! I remember Myrtle being so kind & caring & I know you will all miss her dearly, but try & find comfort knowing she is now in a more peaceful place & if it's possible she will be watching over you all. Take care & God Bless, Alma I will call you later. Hugs mabel

Alma, Charl, & Aunt Isabel..I'm sorry I cannot be there today, but wanted to extend my deepest sympathy over the loss of a very dear woman. Myrtle was always part of the Johnson family and was quickly adopted as our second mother. Her kind and caring demeanor caused people to gravitate toward Myrtle because she provided a sense of comfort & trust--a safe haven so to speak. There are very few people that are loved and respected by all, but Myrtle certainly earned this rite of passage and will be sadly missed. Love to all,Daphne

What a blessing to have lived so long and so well. I have many fond memories of Myrtle while I stayed at Feild Hall as a MUN student and a student at Queen's. She was much like a mother away from home to us single Theology students, so gentle and caring. If you needed something sewed she never hesitated to do it. She was indeed a very special lady and friend to so many that met her at Queen's. "Well done thou good & faithful servant".

My condolences to Myrtle's family. I knew Myrtle best in the days of my youth, as a young MUN student staying at "the Main Building" Queen's College. It didn't matter how hectic, how chaotic, how untidy, my life, there was Myrtle; gentle and kind, with a quiet smile that encouraged, or admonished, whichever was needed, more effectively and lovingly than any words. What a blessing she was to so many of us.

To all Myrtle's Family: You must know that Myrtle, whom you loved so dearly, was greatly loved by many others as well. Those of us who came to know her at Queen's College soon learned of her gentle manner, her loving service, and her faithfulness in all things. She quietly loved us all and demonstrated that repeatedly in any dealings she had with us. I remember well her "speech" at the acceptance of her doctorate at Queen's. "I always thought," she said, "that each of you was special; now you have made me feel special, too." It was a sign of her deep humility that she didn't realize just how special she was. My wife, Bonnie, and I join with all who give thanks to God for her remarkable life and the blessing it became to so many. God bless you as you remember and give thanks for Myrtle's life among us. Sincerely, Russell L. Small

With sad hearts we write this message. Aunt Myrtle was loved by so many, it is hard to imagine this world without her. Her kindness, soft voice, amazing baked goods, and her warm heart is what I will remember most. I'm so glad I was able to visit one last time, just a few shorts weeks ago. Wishing we could be there with our family to celebrate Aunt Myrtle's wonderful life. Mom, Dad, Aunt Alma, Uncle Charl, and the rest of my family...we love you so much and are with you in our hearts. Aunt Alma, thank you so much for all you have done...love you! All our love, Lori, Paul, Casey, Teri and Andrew. xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
