COOPER, Alice Myrtle - DCL. (Awarded Honorary Doctorate of Canon Law by Queen's College, 2007) Passed peacefully away at the Masonic Park Nursing Home, Mount Pearl on Saturday, September 1, 2012, Alice Myrtle Cooper of St. John's; formerly of Lower Island Cove, age 90 years. Predeceased by parents: John and Martha Cooper; brother and sister-in-law: David and Anne Cooper; brother-in-law: Harry Blundon. Leaving to mourn, brother: Charles (Faith) Cooper, Dartmouth, NS; sisters: Isabel (Thomas) Martin, Grates Cove and Alma Blundon, St. John's; also a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at the Salvation Army Citadel, Lower Island Cove on Monday from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, September 5 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Lower Island Cove. Interment in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Lower Island Cove. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation or a charity of one's choice.
