I heard the sad news yesterday of Bram’s passing. For the past few years,we have sat and chatted while getting our hockey equipment on and preparing for a game. Bram was a true gentleman and friend to all who knew him especially all his elderly teammates and he will be missed. I knew he was not feeling well these past few months, but he continued to give his best effort. To all his family, please accept my sincere condolences.

Winnifred , Brooks, Bret and Braden,
I just heard of Bram’s passing. He will not be forgotten in our hearts (Bill, Murray and Andy) - I always cherish the influence he had on my boys and I might add many other young people from the Corps! He will always be a special part of the Carbonear Corps family he was very special man and his memory will be a part of our lives forever. Bram and I had many great times playing cornet together and I would always have a dig at him when I visited when Ches would put be as the End Chair Cornet player! Only the Good Lord knows what a influence and encourager Bram as to me when I came back after many years from the serving the Lord... he was such a HUMBLE man!
However Bram not only an influenced to the folk of the Corps; as there is no question he had a great impact on guys in the Sports world of Conception Bay North either in Hockey or Ball. Everyone knew what Bram stood for because he was indeed a true Ambassador for his Lord and Saviour and his walk matched his talk!.
Although many would get a kick out of Bram when things did not go his way in Hockey or Ball when he'd be heard saying GEEZ BYE GEEZ BOY especially if I called him out on strikes or if Murray struck him out!! Guys you to say to me..." it sounds like Bram is swearing" but everyone smiled... because we ALL knew the difference!
As you may know VELMA AND I are stationed in Midland, Ontario therefore I regret to say that we will not be home for the service on Sunday... but be assured you, the boys and family will be held close in our thoughts and prayers .
Pansy and Neville were just chatting and we certainly all agreed that Bram has heard the words from the Lord... "Well done thy Good and Faithful Servant." My challenge to the Corps Folk is who is going to fill that empty Chair in the Band? Blessings, Major Bill Preston
