Glenda, Dan and family. My condolences on your dad's passing. In many ways George was like family to us. Many summers we spent countless hours talking while camping in Springdale Park. What a life you have to celebrate ! So many images come to my mind at this time. The enormous friendship between your mom and dad and my parents, so many fun conversations I had with your dad, so much kindness I witnessed . One story I have to share. One year the river was high and George wanted to fish badly , but too much current to get to the sand bar in the middle of the river. The solution came from my buddy , John. We got George to his favorite fishing place using a hand bar John used to bring moose out of the woods-- four people , one for each handle. When we lowered Gorge down so he could stand in shallow water he looked at us and asked, "When is the ferry going back ? " There was always fun when George was in the park. He left such a great legacy as a teacher as well. RIP George, my friend. You will be missed in many ways

Dear Glenda & Danny,
We are so sorry to learn of George's passing. His recent birthday photos certainly captured the essence of your Dad. His life story is so entwined with Jack's - from Blackhead to Raleigh and all points in between. Without a doubt, the places they loved best were either by ponds or on hills. Together they shared many great adventures. We have been reminiscing about George and Jeannie this weekend remembering and smiling about all that they meant to us. We send our deepest sympathy to you both , to Susan and her family and to Joshua. Love, Dallas and Fred

To the Burden family,
I feel I just have to express my sympathies at the loss of a great man, George Burden.
I first met him many years ago fishing for salmon at Indian River Falls near Springdale. He was so friendly, so kind and especially very humorous.
If you found fault with George you didn’t have a whole lot going for you in this world. Everyone who fished on the river knew he was advanced in years and marvelled that he could spend so many hours standing with a fly rod whipping it back and forth. Seemed like everyone rooted for him to be successful.
He and his buddy Mr. Murray came every summer for many years and I was glad to make the acquaintance of both of them.
Well George, now you’re in a place where salmon is thousands and there’s not a nipper to be seen.
Rest easy buddy, you earned it.

Glenda, Dan and family,
We were so sorry to hear about your dad. Meeting George and Jean was one of the early highlights of coming to Blackhead. They both had a ready smile and kind word for us and anyone they met. Your Dad was one of the first things we'd see on a summer morning - sun glistening silver on the water and George working away in his garden.
Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Glenda & Family: Shocked and saddened to learn of your Dad's passing. Thanks so much for the pictures of him just last week celebrating his 96th birthday with family. I cherish these [pictures along with some taken with him at Luxury Estates.
I really enjoyed visiting and reminiscing with him about my high school years when he taught me in Victoria. A man of integrity and intellect who was firm, fair, and friendly, A hero mentor, father figure, and forever friend. During my last visit with him in April, we expressed the hope of meeting again, come summer. We prayed together and assured each other that we will be spending Eternity in Heaven because of our acceptance of Salvation through the death and resurrection of Jesus. Until then,Sir, "Go Rest High on That Mountain". Please accept our condolences with thoughts and prayer.
Tennyson wrote, "I am a part of all that I have met". Pleased and priveledged to be a part of George E. Burden and through extension your family
